We wrote this module for a client who had used static pages on their Miva Merchant 4 site to speed up load times for their customers. As a result, they had URLs of the format http://www.domain.com/CATEGORYCODE.html and http://www.domain.com/PRODUCTCODE.html. When we migrated them to Miva Merchant 5, they needed a module that provided the exact same short URLs, so they wouldn't lose their search engine positions as a result of the new website. So we developed Smart Links for SEO™ to meet this need. (Available only for Miva Merchant 5.x running MySQL.)

Our Zip Based Sales Tax module has been in use by clients since 2001, and gives stores a way to calculate sales tax based on the zipcode that the items are being shipped to. Frequently Asked Questions

Below are some frequently asked questions regarding the sales tax database products and their integration with the NetBlazon Zip Based Sales Tax Miva Merchant Module.

Q) How quickly will I receive the database after purchase?
A) As with all of our products, you will receive an email with a link to download the database immediatly after payment is confirmed.

Q) When and how are the monthly updates delivered?
A) At the beginning of each month you will receive an email with the updated database.

Q) At what level are the tax rates broken down?
A) The database contains the tax rates at the state, county, and city levels.

Q) What about regional transportation charges and other local taxes?
A) These taxes are included in either the county or city taxes depending on the location.

Q) Does the software calculate state tax forms?
A) The products sold are databases only to be used with your existing software. It does not produce forms or reports of any kind.

Q) How do I get the sales tax rates into the Zip Based Sales Tax module?
A) Zip Based Sales Tax ships with an import module. The import module expects the sales tax date to be in a specific format. For your convenience, we've provided an Excel spreadsheet in each zip file that contains a macro for converting the sales tax data to the proper format for the Miva module. Detailed instructions are provided in the Zip Based Sales Tax helpfile.

In 2006 we also released a new import module for MIVA Merchant 4/x users that will directly import the sales tax modules. If you are a current licensee and would like a free copy of the new import module, email us your license key.
