Purpose of Module
The Subcategory Navigation module allows you to display the subcategories that
belong to the current category at the top of the category screens. Subcategories are
displayed in a table with a configurable number of columns. The token %currentcatname%
can be used to show the name of the current category.

How to Install
- Installing the Module
- Unzip the module's ZIP file to your hard drive
- Log into your Miva admin utility
- Expand the navigation tree next to Modules
- Click the link "Add Module"
- Click the "Upload File" graphic
- Click the "Browse" button
- Browse to the location where you stored the files from the ZIP file
- Select nbsubcatnav.mv
- Click the "Upload" button
- When the graphic has been uploaded, the small "Upload File" window will disappear, leaving you with the main Miva admin screen visible
- Click the "Add" button on the main Miva admin screen
- Associating the Module with a Store
- Log into your Miva admin utility
- Expand the navigation tree next to Stores
- Expand the navigation tree next to the store with which you wish to associate this module
- Click the link "Utilities" under your store area
- In the assigned module list, you should see an entry for "NetBlazon's Subcategory Navigation"
- Check the checkbox next to this module and click Update
How to Configure
- Log into your Miva admin utility
- Expand the navigation tree next to Stores
- Expand the navigation tree next to the store with which you wish to associate this module
- Click the link "Utilities"
- Click the "Subcategory Navigation" tab
- Set the following values as desired:
- Number of columns: How many columns your subcategories should be displayed in
- Location: Choose the screen location where the subcategories should appear
- Table Tag Override: Use this to enter a well-formed and valid table tag to override the default (optional)
- TD Tag Override: Use this to enter a well-formed and valid TD tag to override the default (optional)
- Show Bullets: Places an HTML bullet (using the <li> tag) in front of each subcategory name
- Make Links Bold: Makes the font for each subcategory link bold
- HTML to Show Before Table: Enter any HTML you wish to appear immediately before the table of subcategory links (optional)
- HTML to Show After Table: Enter any HTML you wish to appear immediately after the table of subcategory links (optional)
- Note: Make sure you close all necessary tags you open in either HTML to Show Before Table or HTML to Show After Table. You do not need
to close the table or TD tags used in the Table Tag Override or the TD Tag Override; these are closed automatically
- Click the update button to save your changes.
How to Use with Viking Coder's Category Template Module (No Support for Product Template)
- Go to Stores->Your Storename->Utilities
- Click on the tab for Category Page Templates
- Select the Third Party tokens sub-tab
- Enter module code NBSUBCATNAV and token NBSUBCATNAV
- Click the update button
- Go to your template and, wherever you want to show the output from our module, enter: %module|NBSUBCATNAV|01|%
