Save Baskets (OUI Extension)

Purpose of Module

Save Baskets lets your users save their current shopping basket for future use. This feature is most commonly used by customers who regularly order the same items repeatedly from your site.

How to Install
  • Installing the Module
    1. Unzip the module's zip file to your hard drive
    2. Log into your Miva admin utility
    3. Expand the navigation tree next to Modules
    4. Click the link "Add Module"
    5. Click the "Upload File" graphic
    6. Click the "Browse" button
    7. Browse to the location where you stored the files from the zip file
    8. Select nbsavebask.mv
    9. Click the "Upload" button
    10. When the graphic has been uploaded, the small "Upload File" window will disappear, leaving you with the main Miva admin screen visible
    11. Click the "Add" button on the main Miva admin screen

  • Associating the Module with a Store
    1. Log into your Miva admin utility
    2. Expand the navigation tree next to Stores
    3. Expand the navigation tree next to the store with which you wish to associate this module
    4. Click the link "System Extension Configuration"
    5. In the assigned module list, you should see an entry for "netBlazon's Save Baskets"
    6. Check the checkbox next to this module and click Update
How to Configure
  1. Log into your Miva admin utility
  2. Expand the navigation tree next to Stores
  3. Expand the navigation tree next to the store with which you wish to associate this module
  4. Click the link "System Extension Configuration"
  5. Click the "Save Baskets" tab
  6. In the first section, enter how many baskets a given customer is allowed to save, and how many days after being saved a basket expires. If your system currently has any expired baskets, you'll also see a checkbox that allows you to delete the expired baskets. To do so, check this box before clicking the Update button.
  7. In the next section, enter information for the Restore and Delete buttons. These buttons can be standard HTML buttons or graphic images which you can upload from the admin screen by using the circular button next to the image textbox
  8. The next section allows you to configure the link to the Saved Baskets screen that your customers will click on to see their list of saved baskets. You can choose one of several locations, or use the provided code to enter an HTML link anywhere else within your store. You can also set the text for the link, or upload an image that customers can click on (instead of text).
  9. In the following section you can configure the form a customer uses to save his current basket for future use. Choose a location for this form, a button style (HTML or image), a prompt and a textbox size.
  10. The Show Saved Baskets Link and Save Current Basket button only when customer is logged in checkbox will cause the link to saved baskets and the form to save a current basket to only be visible if a customer has logged into your site. (This option does not apply to links you enter via HTML, only to those specified directly within this administration screen.)
  11. The final section allows you to customize the information messages and warnings used by the system. The final three boxes are for warnings (as opposed to messages) and will be displayed in the font color specified for warning messages. Any of these messages/warnings will accept HTML and/or text.
  12. Click the update button to save your changes.
