Purpose of Module

The Page Title Manager PRO module allows you to specify titles to be placed on each screen of Miva Merchant. The titles replace the default text between <title> and </title> tags on each page. Tokens are available so that you can include store name, category name, product name, selected customer information, and selected affiliate information. (Some tokens are not available on all screens.)

This is the PRO version of the module. It allows titles to be assigned to individual products and categories. If a product or category does not specify its own title, then the default store-wide title is used for that screen (PROD or CTGY).

The module can also be used in stores running Copernicus' Dynamic Templates, instead of OpenUI.

How to Install

• Installing the Module
  1. Unzip nbpagetitlespro.zip to your hard drive
  2. Log into your Miva admin utility
  3. Expand the navigation tree next to Modules
  4. Click the link "Add Module"
  5. Click the "Upload File" graphic
  6. Click the "Browse" button
  7. Browse to the location where you stored the files from nbpagetitles.zip
  8. Select nbpagetitlespro.mv
  9. Click the "Upload" button
  10. When the graphic has been uploaded, the small "Upload File" window will disappear, leaving you with the main Miva admin screen visible
  11. Click the "Add" button on the main Miva admin screen
  
  
• Associating the Module with a Store
  1. Log into your Miva admin utility
  2. Expand the navigation tree next to Stores
  3. Expand the navigation tree next to the store with which you wish to associate this module
  4. Click the link "Utilities" (the one that is underlined)
  5. In the assigned module list, you should see an entry for "NetBlazon's Page Title Manager PRO"
  6. Check the checkbox next to this module and click Update

How to Configure

1. Log into your Miva admin utility
2. Expand the navigation tree next to Stores
3. Expand the navigation tree next to the store with which you wish to associate this module
4. Click the link "Utilities" (the one that is underlined)
5. Click the "Page Title Manager PRO" tab
6. Enter a default page title, which will appear on any screens whose title is not explicitly stated. This step is optional; however if omitted you should fill in ALL other boxes.
7. For any pages whose titles should differ from the default page title, enter the desired text for that page. You may use tokens as specified at the bottom of the screen.
8. To specify a title for a particular category, click Categories on the left side of admin, find the category you wish to assign a title to, and click the round Edit button. Next, click the Page Titles PRO tab. On that screen, enter the title for this category.
9. To specify a title for a particular product, click Products on the left side of admin, find the category you wish to assign a title to, and click the round Edit button. Next, click the Page Titles PRO tab. On that screen, enter the title for this product.
10. For a particular product or category, if a title is assigned to this individual product/category, that value will be used. For products and categories that do not have an individual title assigned, the default value will be used from the main admin screen (if specified). If the default PROD and CTGY screen titles are not set, then any products or categories without individual titles will use the Default Title as specified on the main admin screen.

Page Title Manager PRO's OpenTokens

Page Title Manager PRO offers an OpenToken that allows it to be used on a templated site (such as with OpenDesigner, OpenUI Supermod, or Dynamic Templates). Assuming you registered the module with the token NBTITLES, the token you should use to display the title is:

This token will not print out the opening and closing <title> tags, so make sure to include those within your template.
